Djembe drum notation

Welcome to the djembefola.com djembe drum notation system. This system will allow you to create your own drum notation, which you can save privately, or make public. Each notation will be associated to your username, so you can return to it in the future.

In order to associate each piece of drum notation with an account, we require you to login or register for this one.

Once you have logged in you can create your own tabs to remember what you just learnt, or share with friends, students or the rest of the community. If you have yet to register for free (no catches, I swear), you can do so right now, it only takes a few seconds, and you can access lots of great free djembe content straight away.

About djembe drum notation and this system

It would be a mistake to take any of the notation on this part for site as an authority on any rhythm and it is not meant to be a replacement for a good djembe teacher.

This system provides a number of advantages over traditional djembe notation and drum notation methods. Mostly because we allow for micro-timing which is vital to accurately represent West African drumming.

Why bother creating djembe drum notation?

Whether you want to remember what you just learn't, or document your favourite djembe track, you can share your tab or keep it private. Drum Tab makes it easier to remember certain things and to share concepts and ideas with others. It also deepens your understading of what you may already intuitively know.
