So it turns out that emails haven't been sending since we moved to the new server...
This has been a long arduous process to fix, but I think I'm nearly there now.
The result of this is that people who newly registered in the last months weren't able to activate their account. This is no doubt at least partially responsible for things quietening down a bit so sorry about that!
