I want to get into djembe drumming and found a possible one. Supposedly it is from Africa but don't know exactly where in Africa. And it is the size is knee height and the top of the drum is the size of a dinner plate. The seller is very vague about a lot of it. I was just wondering if I can get anymore information about it before I go and look at it. I appreciate any help.

I would be vague about it as well. This is a djembe of one of the industrial size companies, Nino or Tocca or Meinl or something just like it. I'd bet the skin is either not goat but synthetic or it is treated such as to get rid of the hair with roots. Either way, it will not sound like a good and decent djembe from Africa would. Go for another one...

I appreciate the help. I will looking for another djembe hopefully get a decent djembe soon.
